it amazes me that these giant corporations think that by cutting jobs, they're going to make money. I think they'd make more money if they made a better product. why are overseas manufacturers doing better than American ones? American car makers make fairly crappy cars that eat gas and die after 50,000 miles. no one wants to buy a new car every five years, so of course they're going to buy a Toyota Carola over a Chevy Cavalier. duh.
I would hate it more if they made a quality product. Me and jefF are going to have to buy a new car sometime soon and what do you think we're looking at? Yep, a Honda. Why? Because I put 30,000 miles a year on a car and I'd like to drive it for a year or two after I'm done paying it off. I had a Pontiac Grand Am. I maintained it well. The control stalk coming out of the steering wheel with the headlight switch on it blew at 75,000 miles. I had to replace the transmission at 100,000 miles. The head gasket blew a leak at 125,00 miles. I finally got rid of it at 147,000 miles because weird random lights on the dashboard were blinking.
