I'm back from the south. It was a perfectly marvelous visit.
Ate a lot of yummy food, soaked up some sun, played with the puppy.
But most importantly, had a lot of time to spend with my fam. It's so good to see Heather all settled in, happy at last. She knitted the prettiest hat, neck wrap and fingerless gloves ever. Someday I'll be able to make stuff like she does.
Mom and Dad are also very happy. How could they not be? Look at this little guy! He kills me with cuteness.

Corgi! Sarah's not aware of it, but if we ever get a dog it'll have to be a corgi.

corgis are amazing. Just watching them run is enough to make you laugh your ass off.
I'm a big fan of standard poodles, the really big ones, since I grew up with one and they shed hardly at all. But after hanging out with my parents Corgi, I'm not so sure which breed I'll choose when I have enough room and time for a dog. Can't wait until that happens. I LOVE dogs. :)

Realistically, if we live in the Chicago area, we'll have a more Corgi-friendly yard than a standard Poodle friendly sized yard. BUT, there's always dog parks and the beach to let them stretch their legs.
