Apr. 11th, 2004 11:39 pmEaster is such a weird holiday. really. Look what the easter bunny gave me. Isn't it the cutest? It's a baby pineapple from South Africa. My parents are going nuts on the whole pineapple theme. They gave me a pineapple pillow for my birthday and now this. People are going to think I'm some fruit fanatic, what with the whole obsession with cantaloupe and all. Which reminds me, summer is swiftly approaching, and that means it's almost melon season. mmmmmmm.
It's a Cabaret thing, I swear!
I've spent most of the weekend doing absolutely nothing. Which is awesome. It's so nice to not have to run around all the freakin time for once. I've done all my laundry and slept in two days in a row. Craig took me to see Hell Boy last night. Not bad. The whole Rasputin character was totally unnecessary, but other than that, it had all the comic book action movie requirements: cheesy dialogue, a monster/human love affair, lots of explosions/fight scenes and a trendy pop music score. I told him we should have gone to see Dawn of the Dead. At least there are zombies. Freakin fast zombies. That's some scary shit, having zombies that can sprint at you full force out of nowhere. That would have been awesome.
I had indian food for the first time yesterday. Thank god they had every entree with the option of being mild, medium or hot, or I'd be screwed. I can't stand spicy food. I'm more of a mild salsa kind of girl. The wimpier, the better.
GOOD NEWS!! I passed my licensing exam!! I am an offically state licensed Physical Therapist Assistant!! See, the state doesn't think I'm dumb. In your face, Mrs. Ruxton!! boo yah!!
Also, I now have the means to fly out to NYC and see the fabulous miss Liz (and Meg and Shannon) graduate next month. I'll be leaving on Wednesday the 19th and coming back on Sunday the 23rd. I even get to sneak in an Andrew Bird concert too. You can't beat that.
Other than that, nothing else is really new. There's been some more Ren Faire drama...but I'm sick of talking about it. Besides, Becky, you're the only one who will really care about it and you already heard everything. So there. I'll still be there this season. (89 days to go!!) I think I'm going to miss out on a weekend of Cotswold in Lake Geneva while I'm in New York, but Randy will be there so no big loss. I was supposed to perform some Shakespeare for Barnes and Noble in honor of Shakespeare's natal day...for the book club and storytime crowd. But seeing as how no one showed up for the book club, I don't get to put on my garb and run around the store. Although, I guess I could do it anyway...
I have a ton of books I want to read, now that I'm not studying for my boards anymore. I almost finished reading Wicked again. I bought Peter Pan, Wizard of Oz, and Gregory Maguire's other novels. But for now, I think I'll choose to read The Poisonwood Bible again. I need to genuinely believe that there is good in this world and no one can make me feel better like Barbara Kingsolver.
