Time is passing so fast that it's making my head spin.

Goals unfinished, mostly important things that make Melissa happy, such as theatre and kickboxing.
Feel like a lazy failure for not getting it together by now, but newly motivated. Stay tuned.

Loving the fall so far. Sweaters and rainbow colored trees and carmel apples.

Yesterday was the best: Kumas, Margies and The Last Dragon with some of my favorite Chicago people.

For the past two weeks, work has been pretty nice, actually. Have a new full time Physical Therapist that moved from Philly (hallelujah).  Super cool girl who sings all day. Taught her how to knit last week. I think we'll keep her.

Watching Dr. Horrible a lot, since it's the only TV show/movie on my ipod (which isn't necessarily a bad thing). Need to figure out how to put more on there.

Figured out how to make shortcuts and activate right click mouse-ing with new computer. So much better.

Saw Chris' new band play their first gig. So wonderful to see him doing what he loves and being happy.

Rocky Horror Halloween shows: weekend one survived. Two shows in one night was an interesting experiment. Fun, but exhausting. Trannie pile in the first show was too much fun.
Next weekend at the Music Box shows Mrs. Lovett will come out to play. Can't wait to wear it.

Need to go back to bed. I'm pooped. Hate it when I wake up early in the morning after being up until 3 am.

Listening to newer Tori albums again and still can't get into American Girl Posse.

Tonight: DAVID BYRNE at the Civic Opera house. yesssss.

Time is passing so quickly these days.
I'm almost glad I didn't post much last month. It was a couple weeks of a pretty bad funk and being really uncomfortable in my skin. The last bit of the month was me feeling much better emotionally but got a nasty chest/head cold that drained me of my energy. I think it's mostly gone now. I can get by with a couple Sudafeds a day. That's pretty good.
My birthday was ok. I was still feeling sorry for myself and had moments of almost crying but I made it through. The highlight was seeing Tilly and the Wall the night before. I sang along and danced like an idiot. Their music makes it impossible to be sad. You just can't help it.
Easter was quiet and nice. I got to play Trixie for the first time at Rocky that weekend with Sarah, which was SO much fun.
Really, the secret to a happy Melissa is to let her dress up in pretty wigs and outfits and let her go onstage.

As for now, I've got a lot to be happy about. Chris and I just celebrated our 3 year anniversary and are counting down less than 2 months to our wedding. LOTS to do but all is going well so far. The invitations were printed by a small screenprint place here in Chicago and were designed by Chris' graphic designer friend and they are glorious. They should be going out hopefully by Friday. I'm relieved to be done chasing everyone down for their addresses. My mom has a calligraphers hand so she's doing the envelopes for us. Everyone is pitching in a lot, which is great. I had no idea how many piddly little tiny details are involved in a wedding. It'll make it all the more special so it's worth it. Let's see, bridal shower is a week from Sunday? It's super fun watching our online registries getting filled in. Presents!

I'm also really looking forward to seeing Sweeney Todd this month and Avenue Q next month. I spent a good hour watching behind the scenes stuff on the Tim Burton DVD. It's only making me more hyped.

Well, I'm off to work. Hi ho.
