learning2fly: (Squishy!)
Hello all. Hope you're enjoying your holiday weekend. I for one had a delightfully quiet Turkey day with my fam. Deep fried turkey is always welcome in my book. Especially when it's injected with cajun marinades. We watched some pitiful excuses for football games and read the newspaper all day. Nice.
In celebration of my Dad's upcoming birthday I attempted to make a cake for him...a nice big pink one in the shape of a skrimp. Many thanks for Tim to talking me out of trying that...instead I made it a layered cake with a painted shrimp on top. Much easier. Good GOD that thing was pink. He seemed to like it anyway. Only I could make a pink cake for my dad and have him actually like it. Um. Yes.
So work went fine yesterday, with quite a few cancels and no-shows as I had expected. I'd hate to interrupt people's precious shopping time with some physical therapy. Heaven forbid!!
It was a nice slow-paced day, leaving me plenty of time to finish my final Sweep book, write Steffen a letter back to his Navy boot camp and complete boring ass progress notes and discharge summaries. Later I went out for a Friday night fish fry with my folks and Nana and Bampa. By the time I got home I kicked into full gear, printing all the pictures I've accumulated over this year out and scrapbooking them. Heather and Becky stole me away for the 10:00 Napoleon Dynamite at the Budget Cinema. Laughed so hard I hurt. Such a good film. Then it was back to work. I'm a scrapbooking machine, people. I couldn't sleep so worked on it till the wee hours of the morning. (geeeeeeeek!) Seriously though, it's so much fun for me to sit down and play with all my pictures, remembering all the crazy things I'd forgotten I'd done this year. I'm not all into it like the psycho soccer moms who put charms and little cutesy cut-out shapes all over the place. I keep mine simple. Crazy edges scissors is as far as I go.

I forgot to mention that I got a call from Tim from Pendragon Jewelry from faire. He's having a booth at Wisconsin State Fair Park for a Christmas thing and wants me to work a shift so he can test me out. I'm really exited about it, hopefully all will go well and I'll have a job in his booth next summer. But part of me is still holding out for BBF. It's DECEMBER people, why haven't we heard anything yet as to who is taking the reigns of our dance troupe yet? I'm sure it will all work out but I'm still nervous. Everything appears to be changing dramatically, and not for the better. It's the reveler's split all over again. Devon's going to court, Jer is screwed and probably won't be back. Bellas are on strike until they are a paid group? Possible tumblers somewhere?
Who knows what the hell is going on. I sure don't.
I'm going to cover my ass and make some connections in the shops just incase. And maybe I'll get the balls to audition for Bellas in March.
(Three's a charm, right? or is it three strikes you're out...)
