(no subject)

Trying to clean one's very messy room and pack for a trip at the same time is a hard thing to do. I need to organize my packrat room or it will probably get chaotic again very soon. It hit me yesterday at work that I'm very anal about things being put away and clean at the clinic but when I get home I'm perfectly fine throwing my stuff wherever the hell there's space. I guess it's because I've been an aide whose job was to keep things tidy but more than that I'm really proud of that place and I want it to look pretty and professional for our patients. I work with slobs I tell ya. They'll leave the ultrasound machines, free weights and linens everywhere and walk away. I can't do that. Even when I was a student intern I couldn't do that. I'm weird. If only I could be that dedicated at home...

Well, I must get back to work. I have to finish packing soon so I'll have time to go to Parkside and give them 2 grand, get some textbooks and have my photo taken for a student ID. Then, it's off to O'Hare and onward to NYC with Chris. I am really really happy to be going. It's been over a year since my last visit. Plus I need more Liz time, I didn't get much when she was visiting our fine state of Wisconsin. So there.
I hope we have decent weather (although the weather reports aren't very convincing) so we can do all my favorite free touristy crap like walking across the Brooklyn Bridge and visit the Bethesda Terrace and fountain. and please PLEASE let us get tickets to Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. I've been bouncing around in my car to the cast recording for over a month now and can't wait to see it. Also, I see that there's a Fluevog Shoes store in the city. I might just have to pay them a visit. I am in love with these and these. Maybe if I slave away in Pendragon for the last 3 weekends of faire I'll save up enough to play with.
