I don't usually watch Cold Case but this Sunday I'll make an exception. Word on the street is that the plot is about a murder at a Rocky show, with a special guest appearance by Mr. Brad Majors himself. Check it out!! Also, while I have ya'lls attention, I picked up most of the materials for my Magenta costume pieces today. I'm praying that 5 yards of the black sheer fabric will be enough for dinner scene and toucha. Where can I find the right kind of fluffy crap to line the toucha robe with?

Bahahaha, that looks wonderfully ridiculous and horrible. Why does it have to be airing against the Sunday night Fox lineup, aka the only television I watch on a regular basis? Sigh.

i got my "fluffy crap" at michaels. i went to a few different fabric stores and the only marabou i found there was like pink and yellow and weird colors. the only place with something remotely useful was michaels. i donno if you ever looked at mine really closely, but it's like, gray, black, and brown. according to the anal retentive rhps costume thingy its's supposed to be pinkish brown...which i couldn't find. and quite frankly i'm pretty darn happy with what i got. and i don't plan on changing it anytime soon.

i don't remember how much of the chiffon i got for my toucha and dinner costumes, but that sounds about right. the lady that worked at the store helped us and like, wrapped me up in it. that's all i really know on the subject.
i didn't sew my costumes so i can't help you too much there. yay for helpful family members, especially mothers who will take you from store to store looking for rocky costumes.

yeah, listen to monika. it's been so long since i found mine, i can't remember where i got it.

but you're looking for a marabou boa... you should be able to just cut it up (do it outside, the feather bits will get EVERYWHERE) to trim the sleeves and the back of the neck. i have never found what i think is the right color, but the whiteish/blackish/brownish combo mon and i have is the closest i've found. looks better than baby pink anyway, which is what i had first, and what a lot of magentas use. icky!

and good luck... shoot sarah an email about rolled/french seams so the material doesn't fray (she can explain it better than i can). i was lucky enough to find both my toucha and dinner dresses off the rack, and just alter them. i know, i suck. ;)
