School update!!
Things are finally starting to level out with school. After months of waiting and calling and fighting with Gateway and Parkside, I have been accepted into the Sport and Fitness Management program at Parkside. At first I thought I could sneak in there as a non degree seeking student and take what I need and go to California for their masters program. Little did I know that they limit non degree seekers to 6 credits a semester and only allow them to register for classes the week before they start. NO way man. I'm not moving my work schedule around with the risk of not having any spots left in the classes I need. So it's settled now. Loma Linda (my future school in California) will be taking the Written Communications class I've already taken at Gateway as English 101, which will save me lots of time. Took lots of kicking and screaming to get it but it worked. Here's my plan thus far: 2 years part time classes at Parkside to meet all the prerequisite requirements with 6-9 credits per semester and a couple classes in the summer. Go to California in June '07 for 2 years full time and be done with it. The more I learn about this school the more exited I get. It's a huge medical hospital and school similar to Froedtert in Milwaukee. They're nutrition obsessed and have a mini whole foods store on campus. It seems really nice there. I'm planning on visiting the campus around November, just so see what it's really like. I know nothing about out of state campus visits so April, please give me some pointers. I'm going to pick your brain sometime. I found a really cheap flight ticket website for students which should help a lot, if I'm flying by myself. It doesn't let you get tix for anyone but yourself. But good to know, just in case I need to fly home while I'm going to school there. Classes are on a 16 week quarter system year round with 2-6 week breaks in between, so I'll have plenty of opportunities to come home. It's going to be an uphill climb but I'm willing to do it. I love being a therapist and I want to get better and know as much as I can about my field. I have a lot to learn about more in depth anatomy and neuroanatomy that will make me a better therapist. Plus I'll get to live in friggin California. That's pretty awesome. My only concern right now is getting through Chem 1 and 2 and all the stupid math classes I have to take. I've spread it out so I'll only take 1 difficult class per semester so I won't struggle. My boss is being really supportive with all this, which is nice. This fall I'll be off of work all day on Tuesdays and she seems ok with it. It's going to work. I can do this.

bonus- the wellness class is basically class credit for working out at Parkside's gym. I will definitely make an appearance if grades are involved.

The school and town are both Loma Linda, an hour or so east of L.A.
