I'm glad that taping the knife to my skin wasn't a bad idea, since you're thinking the same thing. I've got Kinesiotape from work that will hold just as strong as duct tape but will be far less painful to get off.
If you put blood on it, won't it show for the next night's performance? Are you going to take it in and sew it even more closed to cover it?
I noticed that our backs will never be to the audience during the scenes we're alive. It probably won't be a big deal, anyway.
