It’s August already. I’m going to start my fall semester in 15 days. Damn.
I knew going into this summer that it would be nonstop craziness. I was asking for it. At least I’m not
bored, right?? I have no free time other than 7:30 pm to 11:00 pm Monday thru Friday...but that’s okay. for now. another month and I'll go stark raving mad. I honestly can't remember a weekend that was actuall honest to god FREE TIME.

Actually, due to my overwhelming need for sleep and wanting to see my family for once, I skipped my speech
class this morning. Daddo was in the boundary waters all last week, so it was really nice to have a quiet
morning to hear all of his stories. Part of me is jealous because I didn't have time to get away from class/work/faire, but part of me is glad I'm home surrounded by everyone that I love (sans miss liz....but there's not much we can do about that, now can we.)
hm. what's new? Work at Aurora is still crazy...speech class continues to blow the big one...
Faire is fab! Nate took his theater bud, Kevin, and his childhood bud A.J. to faire on sunday. He promised me they would come dressed in kilts, instead, I find three guys being harassed by the Princess of Spain dressed in khaki shorts and hawaiian shirts. I just stood there for a while and shook my head. The day ended up going pretty well compared to last weekend, which I won't describe more than the fact that I was wallowing in self pity and feeling more pathetic, lonely and hideous than ever. and they turned me into a newt!! (I got better...)
Back to the near past. I spent a good chunk of the day escorting around the three boys, having a ball. We talked about the pros and cons of being a Reveler, and after much deliberation, I convinced Nate and Kevin to join next year! I'm really exited about that. We are ALWAYS in need of more men. They were in the area during the 2:00 dance set, so I of course dragged them into it. It was a bear dance I'll never forget, let me tell you. Then we played stool ball and a good friend of mine's boyfriend almost hit a patron on the head with the ball. oy. too close for comfort. I think her life flashed before her eyes. Next we had the mummer's play, which I played Maid Marion again. This time, Randy played Robin Hood. He's one of the biggest hams in our guilde. Actually, on Saturday nite, he and I ended up having in impromptu ballroom dancing session out in the parking lot of Perkins at 11:00. During our scene, we're supposed to fake kiss and hug in a melodramatic way. He attempted to dip me without bracing himself and dropped me on my ass. To recover this, he played it off like he did it on purpose and dove on top of me and started kissing my neck. This has NEVER EVER happened before. Honestly, I'm really glad that Karen, our guildemistress wasn't there. She would have flipped out.
Overall, the day was a lower temp (90 degrees) but very humid with no breeze. Around 2 or so we were all ready to take a nap under a tree somewhere. But we of course can't do that...
Honestly though, it was a good day. I had a big grin on my face all morning because a certain couple that should be together is finally together. And Nate gave me a beautiful yellow with red edged rose. what a sweetheart. So, a good day all around. Until that damn 5:00 dance set came around. My second wind had found me an I was extra bouncy. I wear my purse hanging off my belt loosely and it annoyingly bounces around while I dance. For some crazy unknown reason, I thought it would be a great idea to take it off and set it on the picnic table in front of the dirty duck. Brilliant. I returned to the table 15 minutes later to find my pouch that Nate made me had mysteriously walked off. It had my driver's liscence, my handmade celtic wallet from ireland, my participant pass, about 60 dollars cash and two credit cards in it. gah. I NEVER take that stupid thing off!!! Tatiana's beau, Chris, was with me all through it and talked for me because I was too shellshocked to talk. I didn't cry though. Not till I sat in my car knowing that no one in the guilde or security picked it up.
It was a careless mistake. There's just something about faire that makes it feel like a safe environment. I shouldn't have let my guard down. I learned my lesson.
The credit cards have been cancelled and there's still a possibility that it might get turned in at morning meeting next weekend.
But enough about that.
Hez and I started jogging at night today. We did pretty damn good. I was proud of myself for not being as winded as usual. Faire has helped me lose about 10 pounds so far and I can handle the heat and small spurts of physical activity. woo hoo.

and there's tons and tons of drama about my guys at faire, but that's another story.
