learning2fly: (mysterious production of eggs)
Just got home to find a long awaited album, Andrew Bird & The Mysterious Production of Eggs, in my mailbox. I am IN LOVE with the new studio versions of Skin Is, My and Tables and Chairs.
(pssst...miss Liz...I'm sending a care package out to you soon, do you want a copy?? should I send it to your place in Brooklyn or your office?)
I am really looking forward to the Ani/Andrew concert on the 26th. It's going to be great, and hopefully she'll pull Andrew onstage for the songs he played in on her new album.
AND I am pleased to announce Andrew's site has new concert dates up including an album release concert (solo) at the Metro on April 16th.. ::coughchriscough::
While I was browsing Metro's site I stumbled upon another show I must get to: The Decemberists will be there on April 7th for only $15. It's a Thursday nite but I can ask off for that Friday, no problem.

I tell ya, I almost keeled over during Kickboxing this morning. My head got a little swimmy after doing high level drills one right after another. The instructor came up to me while we were doing work on the heavy bags and asked me if I like fighting. I said I hadn't really been in fights but damn it feels good to kick the crap out of my heavybag. He then warned the class not to mess with me. Sweet.
I plan to attend that class every Saturday morning as often as I can, it's fun and a great full body toning/strengthening workout. I want to lose as much as I can before summer and now that I'm moving closer to the gym I have no excuse. If I could get out there before work a couple mornings a week that would help, but I can't seem to get out of bed without multiple snooze button pushes. Eh. We'll see.
At noon I had a meeting with a morgage consultant at my bank to punch numbers and start planning for my 6-12 month away purchase of a condo. The good news is I can get a morgage based on my income now without having to have anyone cosign with me. The bad news is I'll be paying $932 a month for a 30 year loan. I don't know how that's supposed to work. Unless I get a huge raise in the near future or win the lottery. I pay about $500 a month with all my rent, utilities, phone bill and internet. I'm living with a pretty tight budget after I pay all those bills. I'll have to sit down sometime and work this out. At least I don't have student loans to deal with. All I have is car payments and a $600 on my visa, so that's pretty good. That's all I know for now. Money gives me a headache.

I just made the best cornbread ever. I combined a jiffy cornbread mix with a yellow cake mix and it turned out identical to Boston Market's. Paul and Emily are coming over for dinner and I decided to make chili and cornbread. Too bad it's not really chili weather, seeing as how it's sunny and almost 50. Ah well. It'll work. Then we're going to the Pettit Ice center with Heather to go ice skating. Should be fun.

Last week I got my coat back from Ireland. I left in the second B&B we stayed at. Irish people are so nice, they mailed it to me. So that's cool. Hopefully I won't need it much longer...
