help me out, creative people
Nov. 22nd, 2006 09:07 amI need some ideas before I go to class in an hour!!
My Theatre class has broken into small groups to develop a play and come up with 4 pages of sample dialog. It needs to be based on a real life experience of a student in the group but other than that we can go anywhere with it. My heart is not in this at all and I can't think of anything interesting. So far my group shared stories about a wedding from hell in which the minister compared the bride to Gollum and the groom to Sauron. I kid you not. And the jock guy who clearly has no interest in being there said we should have a play about how he and his friends smoke up in the woods when they play frisbee golf on campus. Or the married guy suggested we make it a ren faire play and I really don't want to go there.
seriously, help.
I can't think of anything interesting and REALLY don't want to use any of the ideas that are on the table.
EDIT: ok. We decided to build on another story from stoned jock guy. He was walking around the woods on campus and got lost, resorting to call his mother on his cell when she had never been on campus before. We're taking it in the direction of how his life is a downward spiral of bad decisions and being lost in the woods will be the peak of everything going wrong. He'll then have to decide to grow up, ask for help and figure things out or continue to be lost and alone.
We might even toss in a Scrooge moment and have some spirits help guide him along.
Not bad!
