I stole my new icon from someone in the lj moviebuff group. HEEE!!! I looveeeit.

Happy Halloween, ya'll. I won't be able to make it to see Rocky this year, much to my dismay. Everyone has ditched out on me and I don't want to go down to Chi town all by my lonesome, wearing what I was planning to wear. (Sorry Becky and Eric. Hope the show goes really well).
I'm working this weekend anyway. My turn for hospital rotations. all together now: 'and there was much rejoicing.....yaaay...'
It wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't missing out on being with my family and going to IKEA and that awesome mall that has a Delias and Sephora in it. But really, it's ok. I'm needing to lay low for a while so I have some coin to spend in NYC. ((8 days, yo))
Two things need to be done ASAP:
(1). need to find my brain
(2). need to fuck someone's brains out
(preferably in that order)

That is all. Have yourselves a Thursday, folks.

on a final note: I've been addicted to the AMC channel this week during Monsterfest. I stayed up past my bedtime to finish watching a really cool cult classic called "They Live". Very groovy movie. This guy stumbles upon a pair of sunglasses that show him a hidden world. Everything looks fine when they're off, but when they're on, billboards are stark white with bold black lettered slogans saying 'CONSUME' 'OBEY AUTHORITY' etc. and half the people look like skeleton-y creatures that are using the human race for their bidding. Far too much fist fighting and gunfire, but a neat concept. me likey. Has anyone seen the original Little Shop of Horrors?? with Jack Nickolson in a tiny yet awesome part?? It is so beyond bizarre. Very fun to watch. Seymore's mom is a total hypochondriac, he manages to pick up some hooker and feed her to the plant and you HAVE to check out the signs around the plant shop. I love the crazy things you find in the little details that no one else notices.
I also loved Evil Dead/ Army of Darkness. who couldn't love lines like 'Listen up you primitive screwheads!!' oh man that movie kills me. There's so much fun stuff out there just waiting to be discovered. Who needs wannabe remakes of Texas Chainsaw?? I'm sorry, but the point of the original movie was the low budget style. That's what made it so scary. Because of it's rawness. Good ol Ed Guene. They made 8 movies based on our famous Wisconsin psycho. Silence of the Lambs, Psycho, Texas Chainsaw and two sequels, etc. I heard they didn't even have any furniture made out of skin or bones all over the front room in the new one. Not even the freaky grandpa/dinner scene. (and the cool letterface dance at the end!!) It's an excuse for them to make a movie with Jessica Beil running around for two hours in a wet t-shirt. Plain and simple.

Geez. that was more than a few last words, wasn't it....

I love your new icon!!!!

It so sucks that you can't make it to Rocky. Don't mind the email I sent you, it's Rocky stuff.

But, if you think you can make and are just worried about not making it back home because of exhaustion, you could crash at my house. We have an extra bed in another bedroom that you could use. Seriously, I've been looking forward to you coming out here Halloween weekend.

But, if you're gonna be completely exhausted, don't worry about it. You're sanity is more important than a Rocky show.

Anyway, I hope to talk to you soon!!!!

Becky

I know....I was looking forward to it too. It will be the first time that I haven't been at Rocky for Halloween in three years. I'm just thinking it might not be a good idea to stay up all night and try to treat patients all day sunday and drive all by myself. I hate driving to Chicago by myself.
I don't know. gah. I'll call you soon.

not exactly. another Jim Henson creation, of course, from a movie made in '94 starring the one and only David Bowie and Jennifer Connely.
hint: Did you say hello? no, I said 'allo. But that's close enough.

:)

Hope you have a fab time in London, you lucky thing. love you too.
