learning2flyThe weekend once again was packed to the brim with stuff going on. Went by far too quickly.
Some highlights:
1) Oh man. Spending my birthday money on a spa package was such a great idea. Got 4 inches of hair cut off and damn it feels good. I knew I needed to do something when my daily hairstyle consisted of a ponytail or up in a claw. Bo-ring. And then there was the hour long massage. Oh. Man. So. Good. I walked out of there feelin like a million bucks. I had to go back out into the real world and fight traffic with crazy weekend drivers but I didn't care. I felt amazing. While I was in the waiting room I looked at all the other services they offer and found out they have spray on fake and bake tanning. I made an appointment for Thursday so I won't be so pasty white for Rocky. And I look thinner when I'm tan.
So there you go.
2) Visited Bampa, turns out they're going to check out the condo tomorrow to prepare for his discharge. YES! He's coming home soooooon! That's the best news I've heard in a long time. So happy about that. His memory is for shit now, so it's going to be a whole other set of problems when he gets home. I don't want to be there when they take his car keys away. He's going to flip out. But, first things first. Let's get him out of that stupid rehab center/nursing home. Now.
3) Picked up all of our pieces from Fired Up. They all turned out so pretty! I had fun walking down Main Street with 7 bags of breakables. eep.
4) Heather's Gallery was crazy. We got there right when it opened and they were scrambling around trying to get their name cards glued together and put up. I actually spent the first 10 minutes glueing with them. Poor things were all stressed out. Heather's area was beautiful. Her paintings, seeing them all up and finished, was wonderful to see. Everyone there did a great job.
5) Pirate Party at Paul & Emily's. Oh man. I drank too much on an empty stomach and it went straight to my head. I had fun reminiscing about high school with a guy from my sister's class. Oh, and watching Paul use an entire bottle of lamp oil for an impromptu fire eating show in the backyard. That was awesome.
6) A day in Chicago: many thanks to miss Emily for the H&M hookups. Now I have my very own Magenta dress! I feel a million times better after rehearsing the show all the way thru with Monika and Emily. Knowing Strawberry will be leading me around makes it better too. It's going to be great!
To top off the day I had dinner at Clarke's and watched movies into the wee hours with Chris.
7) Bad news: had to reschedule my scary biopsy thing to next Monday. Good news: can take off the rest of the day afterwards incase I'm in pain and want to go home.
8) Heather is going to St. Paul this weekend to visit miss Pookie and Jon. I wish I could go. Her car is a piece of shit (cue the music!!) so I offered her use of Roxie. I don't know if I'll take hers down to Chicago for the show. Maybe I'll take the train. I need to look at Metra schedule one of these days and figure it all out.
9) Don't want to curse it, but I'm feeling really great lately. Other than the health
issues, I've been really happy and bouncy. My coworkers look very confused at my sudden onset of happiness.
10) Hey, did I mention that possibly maybe Liz will be coming home for a visit? I'm really hoping that works out. Cuz I miss my Liz. A lot.
11) I am officially going to the Rocky Convention in Vegas. At first my request to have off was denied but I used my mad negotiation skillz to get my way. I can't *not* go. 4 nights for 90 bucks? Yeah.
How insane is this: I just joined the cast in October, now I'm doing the whole show by myself Friday night, dating someone in the cast and flying out to a convention??? I never thought this would be happening. Not in a million years. I love it when things fall into place like that.
This will be my first time visiting Las Vegas. AND get to be at Sarah and JefF's wedding. If I play my cards right (pardon the pun) will squeeze in a visit to the Grand Canyon. Sweet.
