Happy Friday, ya'll!
I'm still reeling from yesterday: I worked a full shift including scooping ice cream for 2 hours for our Relay for Life team's final fundraiser. Then I headed home, had dinner with Heather, played 3 rounds of sand volleyball with Jennie Wahl and Laura Paap, went swimming at Laura's in the moonlight, hit the bar with Meg and her friends along with Josh, hitched a ride home on Josh's motorcyle AND had "the talk" (i.e. Melissa misses you and wants to date you again). whew!
As for tonight, I will be attending the Relay for Life in Kenosha. I love this event.
This is my third year on a team. I'm so glad to be a part of it.
Basically, for those of you who haven't heard of it, Relay is a chance for the community to get together and raise money for cancer research. We meet at a middle school on their track and fill it with music and tents and food and dunk tanks and raffles and the like. I especially love the opening ceremony: all cancer survivors and their families take the first lap around the track. It's a very powerful moment. After that the teams take over and we walk all night and all morning. This year there's going to be a Locks of Love hairdresser there taking donations. Makes me wish I had long hair again. I would totally to that.
AND I'm looking forward to my break from Faire this weekend. No offense to all you lovely people but I just need a break. So very much. (and I wish you all the best of luck with Ron...wish I could be there to help out).
I'm running away to the Dells to visit my Nana and Bampa for the weekend. It should be really nice. I'm going to chill and not worry about stuff.
Have a great weekend, everyone. hugs to all.
