Hi all. I am also stuck indoors today due to crazy amounts of snow. Not such a bad thing. I have much cleaning, laundry and photo printing/scrapbooking to do anyway. Unless things lighten up early afternoon and streets get cleared out I won't be able to get to the Andrew Bird album listening party in Chicago tonight. Poop. BUT, Ani Difranco's online store has his album listed to ship out on Feb. 1st, so that's a bit sooner anyway. There's many tracks on her site that you can listen to and it sounds GREAT.

Hey you lovely rocky people: what do you think of *these boots* for Magenta wear? I know they're not front lacing like they should be but damn they're cute and the right heel and ankle high. Thoughts?? I still don't know what scenes I'll be doing but I want to be prepared.

for magenta boots, id be thinking those could be used for space boots. you could probably wear them as her main shoes too, but i just think they'd be better as the space boots.

The shape of them through the toe and heel aren't bad, but magenta's boots don't lace up the front or the side or anywhere. Magenta's boots should go up to the beginning of where your calf starts to swell, be higher in the front than in the back, and button up the side.
But that's just anal retentive shoe bullshit. As staging manager I would find those acceptable to wear on the stage as her main boots or her spacesuit boots, I just wouldn't wear them at a convention where a bunch of nitpicky people are going to be judging you by how many pleats there are on the left side of the apron versus the right.

Magenta's movie boots aren't front lacing either. Hers actually button up (but for getting a costume together especially at first you don't have to have the exact ones). As long as you can run around in them *comfortably* and *safely*, any remotely similar black boots should be fine.
