Th sun finally came out today. wooo! We're having a great time. I'm so relaxed and happy here. Heather's wedding was beautiful! If you click on the picture, I've got 10 pictures we bought from the photo shop here, including three from the wedding.

WANT.

last B'way performance of Rent is available on DVD, people.

GIMME GIMME.

Hell yes. They even have it available on Blue Ray. (not that I have a Blue Ray player, but still.)
I'm drooling all over myself right now.

by the way, yesterday afternoon my friend Christine and I totally drove around with all the windows down belting out La Vie Boheme and Take Me or Leave Me.  It was fantastic.

Looking forward to seeing the touring cast performance in April. I'm a spoiled daughter in law...I got two tickets to Rent for Giftmas last year. I hope that Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp will be in it.

CORALINE this weekend!

It's finally here, opening this Friday.

There's a 7:30 and a 10:00 at the theater I like in Evanston.

Anyone want to join me? I'm going to buy tickets online soon, if I can.

cranky

Woke up really early with a congested head. Hard to sleep when you can't breathe. I hope that I'm not infected with whatever evil cold is going around.
I'm really digging the new tea I bought on my trip: Octavia strawberry white. It's so light and slightly sweet. Didn't know that white tea has the most antioxidants in it. I would have guessed green, since it's all the rage these days.

Also, I'm on Ravelry now. (please friend me if you're on it too!)
I've crossed over into a whole new level of geekdom. It's a bit overwhelming, seeing such intricate projects people are doing, like this one.  I hope someday I can master fair isle and cables to keep up with the talented folks on ravelry. For now, I'm hoping to find a small project that I can crank out. I need something else to play with, since I've been staring at this same old sweater for ages.
Are any of you Stitch and Bitch girls up for getting the group together again? I miss it.

I'm back from the south. It was a perfectly marvelous visit.
Ate a lot of yummy food, soaked up some sun, played with the puppy.
But most importantly, had a lot of time to spend with my fam. It's so good to see Heather all settled in, happy at last. She knitted the prettiest hat, neck wrap and fingerless gloves ever. Someday I'll be able to make stuff like she does.
Mom and Dad are also very happy. How could they not be? Look at this little guy! He kills me with cuteness.

with my freeze ray I will stop the world

Time is passing so fast that it's making my head spin.

Goals unfinished, mostly important things that make Melissa happy, such as theatre and kickboxing.
Feel like a lazy failure for not getting it together by now, but newly motivated. Stay tuned.

Loving the fall so far. Sweaters and rainbow colored trees and carmel apples.

Yesterday was the best: Kumas, Margies and The Last Dragon with some of my favorite Chicago people.

For the past two weeks, work has been pretty nice, actually. Have a new full time Physical Therapist that moved from Philly (hallelujah).  Super cool girl who sings all day. Taught her how to knit last week. I think we'll keep her.

Watching Dr. Horrible a lot, since it's the only TV show/movie on my ipod (which isn't necessarily a bad thing). Need to figure out how to put more on there.

Figured out how to make shortcuts and activate right click mouse-ing with new computer. So much better.

Saw Chris' new band play their first gig. So wonderful to see him doing what he loves and being happy.

Rocky Horror Halloween shows: weekend one survived. Two shows in one night was an interesting experiment. Fun, but exhausting. Trannie pile in the first show was too much fun.
Next weekend at the Music Box shows Mrs. Lovett will come out to play. Can't wait to wear it.

Need to go back to bed. I'm pooped. Hate it when I wake up early in the morning after being up until 3 am.

Listening to newer Tori albums again and still can't get into American Girl Posse.

Tonight: DAVID BYRNE at the Civic Opera house. yesssss.

watched poor George eat an entire mound of wasabi in one bite (by accident).
