It's so nice to have a day to relax and breathe. yay memorial day. Let's see...so far, I went to see the final dress rehearsal of 'Anything Goes' at the good ol' theater guilde with Matt. We got there an hour early because we apparently can't trust the word of Andy Hansen. Go figure. It worked out beautifully because we had a chance to walk around Wustum Museum's gardens next door and talk for a while. The show was adorable. a major cheese fest, but entertaining to see Jamie Cain and Nate's theater buddy Kevin dancin around. And Andy performing along side his dad. kodak moment. Then on Friday, I had two patients to treat on my own. It proved to be a good challenge, but I gave them a good session. Then after work Matt and I went to see X Men 2. I must say, my Alan gave a dazzling performance. Every time he was on I had a big grin on my face. :) Matt was ready to get me a drool bucket: Alan AND Hugh Jackman. yummmm. Patric 'Jean Luc' Stewart was awesome as usual. I especially liked the new character with the wolverine claws instead of fingernails. I feel bad for Alan though. I read in an interview with him that they had him rigged with bungee cords and flung him around the room with a rubber tail, and after all of that, they made him into a digitally animated fog.

AND THEN Saturday morning began my summer of faire. We started rehearsals this weekend and will continue until opening day at the end of June. Tim Palacek is starting his first year and must go thru BAPA (new rennie training called the Bristol Academy of Performing Arts), and since I'm his ride, I went too. Well, sort of. Becky and Eric didn't come till later and I was lonely and wanted to hide from Randy, so I went to the nearby Kensha outlet malls. :) It was well worth it. I found two pairs of shoes, a rare occurence that has not happened in at least a year. I have been wearing the same black leather doc martins for three years now and people wait until a month ago to tell me that they are manly shoes. Whoops. What can I say, they were well made and fit me well. maybe I just have manly feet? It was conveniently Memorial day weekend, so sales galore. I got lots of new pretty unmentionables. yay! nothing makes me happy like new undies! Not to mention it was a beautiful day and I got to see some old friends and be on the faire grounds again. only a month till opening day. craziness.
I feel much better knowing that I have a good beat on my garb. yes, I will have to get a whole new outfit this year to make the bright colorful and striped standards for the (insert eye roll) 'bristol buskin frolic' dance troupe. Uggggh. Whoever thought up that name needs to have bad unspeakable things done to them. I can't even say our name with a straight face. Don't get me wrong, I am SO grateful to have made it into the group. but geez. frolic should NOT be in the title, to say the least. I can understand the need for alliteration to give it a little extra zing. There are worse things we can think up that start with the letter "F"...
...but let's not go there.
Sunday was the first day of rehearsal with each individual performing group. BUT I wasn't there. I was at Kickboxing class with Hezzie early in the morning and partying down at my Graduation party in the afternoon. Thanks to my great connections (thanks Hez) it was at the Racine Zoo, at a nice pavillion overlooking the lake. A BEAUTIFUL perfect day. 50+ people coming out to celebrate with me. I had coworkers (and my boss), excoworkers from Barnes and Noble, classmates, teachers, friends and family all there to wish me well and enjoy the day. We even had a little game of volleyball. My teacher's son was getting pretty pissed at Wolfie for calling him 'Mini me' and proceeded to make snide comments directed at him the whole time. But given he was 7 years old no one thought much of it. Hell, I thought it was funny.
I had such a wonderful time. Everyone pulled together and made it a great day. A few weren't there and were greatly missed (miss liz and paige)(all my rennie friends stuck at rehearsals).

*It was nice to feel special for a day*
