I went for a run today, for the first time in over 2 years. Well, 2 miles of running for a minute then brisk walking for 10. Lockwood Park was mostly ice this morning, so I didn't run in fear of falling on my ass. I won't have that excuse for much longer. Kickboxing is going pretty well, Heather and I are going 2-4 times a week. Our 3 week trial period is almost over, so I'll have to decide whether or not I'm going to become a regular member. We shall see.
Why all the exercise lately? The fire under my ass right now is Rocky. (2 1/2 weeks away? Oh sheeeit). Every time I think about doing the dinner scene in that see thru dress I want to jump on a treadmill. I'm getting really exited about doing the entire show by myself. Emily, Sarah and Monika are being so supportive and awesome about it. We're going to have a rehearsal just me and Emily to go through it all, so I should be just fine. Woo!

You're going to be just fine. Most people don't really think about Magenta's costumes as being revealing unless they've actually taken a turn as a Magenta. Other than Rocky's shorts she has the most revealing costume. In fact, I think her costume is more revealing than Rocky's costume because her panties are only tiny little string bikinis, at least Rocky gets a full boy cut brief to wear.
If you're not really enthused about wearing the chiffon dinner scene dress you can consider making it out of a slightly heavier weight georgette. Georgette will achieve the sheer factor and be a little more forgiving under the lights. Georgette comes in several different weights/thicknesses so try to choose one of the lighter georgettes.

Here's a few links to pictures of my thicker one. The second one it's draping a little funny over my right boob, but you get an idea of what the thickness is.
The third pic is of me from a little further away so that you can see that you still can see through it, but it's a little denser than chiffon, so it hides a little more, and the two layers of georgette in the front make the front diamond almost not see through, so it hides my little tummy.

When you make your dinner scene dress I don't care staging manager wise which of the two materials you make it out of. Unless you're planning on competing at a con or performing at a con in it, you don't have to go all out anal retentive about the thing. It's totally your call based on your comfort level.

dont worry too much over the see thru dresses. it's really not that bad. and like i was kinda iffy about doing it the first time too, but it's like screw it, i'm just gonna do it and whatever happens happens...which in my case, my 2nd set of shows i got called a fat whore. but most people arent mean crippled girls, so dont worry

and it's like, when you're up there, you don't really think about it. you're more worried about remembering what's the next thing you have to do not if you look perfect.

of course, i wish i looked better but just cause i don't look like a barbie doll, i'm not going to stop doing rocky. i have fun doing it, and if somebody has that big of a problem with what my body looks like while doing it...well fuck them. this is a shadow cast doing rocky, not mtv.

you'll borrow my costumes, and look great in them and you'll do awesome. i say just have fun, and don't get to paranoid with being perfect.
